Celebrate 400 Years of Manufacturing in America

Celebrate 400 Years of Manufacturing and Exporting in the United States!

The National Association of Manufacturers is a proud Partner of Jamestown 2007: America's 400th Anniversary. Jamestown is unique among European ventures into the New World. Rather than a government-sponsored pursuit, the Virginia Company was a for-profit, private stock company.  One of the first things the settlers did was to use the local resources to manufacture high-quality glass for export back to Europe. Besides the legacies of free enterprise, manufacturing and exporting, Jamestown also instilled in the U.S. the traditions of rule of law and representative government. We salute the celebration of this heritage, which has allowed this country to prosper.
